Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about Janio's 4PL platform and services.

Getting Started

What is Janio and how is it different from a 3PL?

A 3PL moves your goods using their own warehouses and trucks. A 4PL like Janio is fundamentally different—we don't own assets, we orchestrate them. We manage your entire carrier network (including your existing 3PLs) through one platform, optimizing for cost, speed, and reliability. You get access to 500+ vetted providers, one contract, one invoice, and one point of accountability. Think of us as your outsourced logistics department, not just another shipping vendor.

How long does it take to get started?

Most customers are shipping within 2 weeks. Basic setup takes just days—account creation, API or CSV integration, and carrier network configuration. Enterprise customers with custom ERP/WMS connections typically go live in 4-6 weeks.

What regions do you cover?

We specialize in Southeast Asia and Greater China, covering 15+ countries including Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and mainland China. We also support shipments to/from Australia, Japan, South Korea, India, and select Western markets.

Do I need to switch from my current carriers?

No. We integrate with your existing carriers and 3PLs—you keep your relationships while gaining unified visibility and better rates. Many customers start by using us for specific lanes or new markets, then expand as they see results.

Who else uses Janio?

We work with 500+ companies across ecommerce, marketplaces, and logistics services. Our customers range from fast-growing DTC brands to large enterprise retailers and regional marketplace operators. We're happy to provide references in your specific industry.

Pricing & Billing

How does pricing work?

We offer four engagement models: Platform Access (from $0.50/shipment), Managed Services (from $2,500/month), Enterprise Partnership (custom pricing), and White-Label 4PL (revenue share). No hidden fees—you only pay for what you use. See our Pricing page for full details.

Are there any setup fees or minimum commitments?

No setup fees for standard integrations. Platform Access is month-to-month with no minimum commitment. Managed Services typically involve a 12-month agreement with quarterly reviews and the flexibility to scale up or down.

How much can I expect to save?

Customers typically see 20-50% reduction in shipping costs depending on current rates, volume, and corridors. Invoice auditing customers recover an additional 3-12% through billing error detection. Most customers see positive ROI within 60-90 days. Request a free logistics audit for a personalized savings estimate.

How does billing work?

You receive a consolidated weekly or monthly invoice for all shipments, with detailed breakdowns by carrier, destination, and service level. No more managing dozens of carrier invoices separately.

Integration & Technology

How do I integrate with Janio?

We offer multiple integration options: REST API for full automation, Shopify/WooCommerce plugins for ecommerce, CSV upload for batch processing, and manual booking through our web portal. Most customers start with one method and expand as needed.

Can you integrate with my ERP/WMS system?

Yes. We have pre-built integrations with SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, and popular WMS systems. Custom integrations are available for enterprise customers with dedicated implementation support.

What tracking capabilities do you provide?

Our platform provides unified real-time tracking across all carriers, with milestone updates, delay alerts, and delivery confirmation. Tracking data is available through our dashboard, API, and webhook notifications.

Is there an API rate limit?

Standard API access includes 1,000 requests/minute, sufficient for most use cases. Enterprise customers can request higher limits based on their needs.

Support & Service

What support is available?

All customers receive email support with 24-hour response time. Managed Services customers get a dedicated account manager and priority support. Enterprise customers receive 24/7 phone support and dedicated operations team.

What happens if a shipment is lost or damaged?

We handle all carrier claims on your behalf. Our platform automatically flags potential issues for proactive resolution. Standard carrier liability applies, with optional enhanced coverage available for high-value shipments.

Do you provide performance reporting?

Yes. Our dashboard includes real-time analytics on costs, transit times, carrier performance, and exceptions. Managed Services customers receive quarterly business reviews with strategic recommendations.

Can I speak to someone before signing up?

Absolutely. We offer free logistics consultations where we review your current operations, identify optimization opportunities, and provide a tailored proposal. No commitment required.

Security & Compliance

Is my data secure with Janio?

Yes. We implement enterprise-grade security measures including encryption in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256), role-based access controls, and regular security audits. We're GDPR and PDPA compliant, with SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certifications in progress. Learn more on our Security & Compliance page.

What certifications do you have?

We're currently GDPR and PDPA compliant. SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certifications are in progress with expected completion in 2025. Enterprise customers can request our security documentation package for their vendor review process.

How do you handle sensitive shipment data?

Shipment data is processed and stored in secure, geo-redundant data centers. Access is strictly controlled and logged. We have data processing agreements (DPAs) available for customers who need them. Data retention follows local regulations and your preferences.

Can I get a security questionnaire or SOC report?

Yes. We can provide security questionnaires, our SOC 2 Type II report (upon completion), and other documentation upon request. Contact our team to initiate the security review process for your organization.
